This is maddenning...where does a guy go to rent a truck with a minimum 20,000 lb tow rating??
I can't even find anyone that is bright enough to tell me over the phone what make and model trucks they have for rent, much less what the tow rating is.

Truck driver nailed with a 30,855 dollar ticket as another truck passes him also in violation.
Trucker nailed with a 30,855 dollar over weight fine. did not know the road was weight restricted until it was to late (sign was not visible until he was past the point of no return) while turning around he was stopped by local PD. While being weighed and handed the ticket he watched another truck that was over the limit (road had a 10 ton limit. 18 wheel trucks weigh more than that empty) Police claim he was not doing a local delivery. He was less than 4 miles from his delivery.

Mexican army finds 140 migrants packed into truck
MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- Mexican officials say soldiers searching vehicles for hidden drugs found 140 Central Americans crammed into a tractor-trailer rig. The Defense Department says troops trying to fight narcotics traffic and organized crime in the southern state of Chiapas found the migrants on Sunday. It did not say what country they were from.

Ryder cancels truck rentals amid terrorist threat
PEORIA — Ryder has canceled all truck rentals for the coming week due to credible but unconfirmed threats of terrorist attacks in the wake of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

A customer who did not want to be identified told the Journal Star that she had been informed by Ryder of the cancellation by phone call Friday. A Ryder representative told the Journal Star all local rentals for the weekend had been canceled, though that person declined to elaborate on the reason.

Truck Hits Sacramento-Bound Amtrak Train; 2 Dead
CHURCHILL COUNTY, Nev. -- At least two people were killed and about 20 others were injured in a fiery collision between a Sacramento-bound Amtrak train and a semitrailer on a rural northern Nevada highway. Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Lopez said the truck driver and one person on the train were killed in the 11:25 a.m. Friday accident about 70 miles east of Reno. He says an unknown number of other people on the train were injured and are being taken by ambulances to the hospital.
